Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) is a technology for packaging food and other perishable products. It involves adjusting the atmosphere inside the packaging container, typically a combination of Carbon-dioxide (CO2) & Nitrogen (N2) (& Oxygen-O2) to extend the shelf life of food, improve food quality and slow down the process of food decay. The fundamental principle is to control the atmosphere inside the packaging container, thereby reducing the growth of microorganisms, acidification and oxidation that lead to spoilage and a decline in quality. Typically, the concentration of Oxygen is reduced while Carbon dioxide and Nitrogen are increased. The food item is put into the prefabricated box, travels automatically inside the machine where the Multiple Gases or Combination of Gases are discharged through the positive pressure system and filled according to the gas ratio through the mixer, lid is cut & sealed over them from the roll & the sealed containers then comes out with automatic advancement of sealing film. This is Ideal for Supermarket delivery foods such as fresh meat, processed meat products, fish, poultry, seafood, fruits, vegetables, tea, bread, etc.

Nitrogen does not promote oxidation and bacterial growth.Carbon Dioxide: Carbon dioxide has the effect of inhibiting bacterial and fungal growth and it can also adjust the pH of the food helping to maintain its quality.Oxygen: Although Oxygen is generally reduced, in some cases food needs to maintain a certain amount of oxygen to preserve freshness and colour such as for fresh meat.
